Wow! I was blown away by the huge crowd trick or treating for Halloween in Mawson Lakes. Clever costumes, a terrific family atmosphere, and beautiful weather made for a great event.
More importantly, the Mawson Lakes Community Church family were present too, bringing Christ into this community time. Angels were decorated and valued, words of encouragement were shared, expressions of comfort for lost ones passed were spoken, and treats were gifted in remembrance of saints.
Over 500 angels were decorated by children, teens and adults and many more lolly bags were distributed. All this occurred thanks to you – to the lolly providers, lolly packers, prayer warriors and MLCC folk plus friends who gave of their time to don angel wings, halos and white MLCC T-shirts. Thank you!
Some special moments included
- a young girl dedicating her angel to the mother of one of our angels who passed away two years ago
- reconnecting with past acquaintances
- sharing greetings in the heart language of the parents and seeing their smile and surprise
- the joy-filled engagement between the MLCC angels and the families
- the gifting of decorated angels and other craft from event folk to MLCC team members.
Thank you all for getting behind this outreach event. I’m sure the Spirit of God was busy too that evening, softening a heart here and bringing joy there. We pray that the seeds planted will move the families to come to know Jesus.
